Magali Arriola is a freelance curator and art critic. From 1998 to 2001 she served as chief curator for the Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil, Mexico City, where she organized a series of exhibitions, including Congo-Bravo: Pablo Vargas Lugo, Inappropriately Drawing, and Art Club 2000. In 2000 she organized the exhibition Coartadas/Alibis for the Centre Culturel du Méxique in Paris and the Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art in Berlin. She has also been a researcher at the Museo Rufino Tamayo, Mexico City.
Arriola has written for the newspaper Reforma and the journals Poliester, Curare, and ArtNexus. She is currently a contributor to the plastic arts section of the newspaper Milenio.
