Case Study: Miami

Exhibition / Event

Following a semester of research into the infrastructure of Miami's developing art scene and how it supports artists, the Professional Development course undertook an on-site research expedition to Miami, Florida, November 30–December 4, 2005. Readings, discussions, and lectures focusing on Miami provided an understanding of the context of projects, places, and events. Students visited with artists, collectors, curators, and managers, and they considered the potential for new models of cooperation in developing contemporary art scenes. They attended Art Basel Miami Beach and other art fairs.
