Designer's Statement
How better can I express—to express is to drive; to drive is to steer; to steer is to guide—my method as a designer, so that when considering something I have made, you will feel compelled to consider my process? I want to move beyond notions of design as a function of the commodity by facilitating ways of seeing, understanding, empathizing with not only the thing made, but the thing in the making. For me design is a collaboration with materials. It is a constant movement toward and away from a finished thing. In essence, it is always unfinished.
