Statement
This body of work is a reconfigured
narrative which began from a symbology
derived from the spatial narrative
of a real geographic space: a juvenile
hall and the golf course that surrounds
it in Los Angeles. This restructuring
is a speculative fiction. In these
pieces, the symbols and characters
become unfixed from their overdetermined
origins as new meanings develop
from their interrelationship; seeking
the liberatory potential of shifting
positions, possibilities and unresolved
questions.
