Artist Statement
My work draws upon cinema and fantasy to recreate a distant childhood.  These ideas often serve as a springboard to other fields of interests that further amplify the snarky preteen character I am interested in developing.  This time period has become important for me to investigate as I have characterized it as my last stronghold of pure fun.  This level of enjoyment focuses on youthful methods of entertainment and is devoid of opportunistic attempts to pick up girls.  It was my goal to find other activities of comradery such as athletics, mischief and combinations of the two.  My paintings celebrate this time without women, the glory of men, and their commitments to each other as they grow erotic, bizarre and climactic.
