Artist Statement
My work investigates the desire for an ever more perfect version of reality and how this desire manifests itself within cyberspace and the resident built environments in online communities. Despite developing technologies, which strive to give the viewer a more authentic, realistic experience, the myth of an immersive, convincing virtual reality is not unlike the myth of Utopia. The work addresses how these evolving technologies are beginning to bleed into life outside of virtual realms and influence our cultural values and social structures.
