Artist Statement
My paintings are about spaces infused with opposing energies; life and death, light and dark, beauty and ugliness. Using fragmented perspectives, collapsing horizon lines and intense colors, I create environments undergoing change and transformation.  I use the metaphor of the body as a leaking system to create environments that are in the act of becoming.  Like these spaces, my painting vocabulary is also in flux; it is a hybrid between abstraction and representation.   Somewhere in between life and death, there is everything else, and this is the space I hope to explore.
