Artist Statement
Language exists as the perfect medium between the visible and invisible. The tangible aspects of language permit our communication to be diagramed, analyzed, and translated. It adheres to strict rules and the ideas it holds can be made into objects. On the other hand, language will never capture the nuances, abstract ideas, and full intentions the communication attempts to contain. Language is in a constant state of evolution.

In this work, I use signs and coded messages to bring this “reveal and conceal” to light. I make puzzles that provide and withhold at the same time. Each work processes and translates pre-existing facts. By reconfiguring information present in our daily lives I hope to highlight simple, hidden magic.
