Artist Statement
Natasha Wheat is an artist whose works take the form of situational constructions. Amplifying the emancipatory or oppressive potential of the institutions in which they occur, she has produced a gift store and resort within a school; a free temporary restaurant in the exhibition space of a museum; a costume stand on a Chicago sidewalk; a farm and arts atelier within a factory.
